The Pink Triangle Project is a movement started by photographer Matthew Dean Stewart after the results of the 2016 Presidential Election were announced. He branded his own face with the pink triangle to show pride for his community. Using the American Flag in the background, to show that regardless of who people might THINK he is, he is American and proud of how far we have come. Regardless if you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Queer, we are ALL AMERICAN and we need to stand together!

The Pink Triangle was a badge used by Nazi’s in concentration camps during the Holocaust to identify male prisoners as homosexual. Once known to be an awful symbol used to discriminate even within a already extremely discriminatory place, the LGBTQ community has taken it back as a symbol for pride.

"If you’re queer, that’s what you wear. If you’re a Jew, a yellow star. Political — a red triangle. Criminal — green. Pink’s the lowest." -  Martin Sherman BENT

An overwhelming amount of fear has spread across not just the LGBTQ community, but with anyone who has felt that being a minority has created a threat for them in this country.

The idea that LOVE TRUMPS HATE is something that will never go away, regardless of who is the ruler of our nation. But it is our responsibility to show our PRIDE for who we are, not just as human beings, but a strong LGBTQ community.
